Joan Powles
Joan Powles, born October 11, 1933, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joan was lovingly married to Doug Powles for 45 years and was the cherished mother of Derek, Danny (Irene), Darryl, and Gail.
She also leaves to mourn numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her stepchildren Ted (Debbie), Barb (Fritz), and David.
She was predeceased by her children Derek and Jo-Ann, who died in infancy; her granddaughter Devon; her sisters Pat and Gail; and her parents Doris and Ed.
Joan retired from West Fair Foods after a successful career as an executive secretary. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, quilting, and staying fit.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Interment and lunch will follow.
Joan will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered always.
Your memories will last forever, Mom. Death can’t take those.
